Tour Description

A beautiful peak of the correct pyramidal shape, which is visible from the Almaty city.

The height of the Sovietov Peak is 4317 meters. In one day you can ride down 1,500 vertical meters.

The Sovietov peak is located near the Big Almaty Lake between the Lokomotiv peak and the Sovietov pass.

In order to make a climb to the Sovietov peak, you will need to spend one night in a tent camp in the Big Almaty gorge.

Skis with ski-touring bindings or splitboard
Ski/snowboard boots(for skiers with system of switching to walking mode)

Backpack of volume at least 50+ liters with ski/snowboard fixation

Extra set of warm clothes for a night in the mountains

Tour Program

Day 1

Transfer from Almaty to the Big Almaty Lake(in the afternoon). Short trekking, camping.

Day 2

Climbing the Sovietov peak. Freeride, descent to the camp. Transfer back to the city.
